Finpro connects Finnish AR/VR companies to MoominValley project in Japan.
FinTech Global Incorporated (FGI), an investment bank listed on the Tokyo stock exchange, is undertaking a large development project (“Metsä”) at Lake Miyazawa, Hanno Township, fifty kilometers West of central Tokyo, Japan. The project, on an eighteen hectare site comprises Metsä Village, a lakeside complex of restaurants, workshops and shops, and MoominvalleyPark, a theme park with both indoor and outdoor attractions with aim to let visitors be in touch with nature and give them a live richening experience with Moomins. The park will gather both children and adults, particularly for women in their thirties and forties, and hence there is a need for more sophisticated high-tech service approach featuring augmented/virtual reality and other state of the art ideas.
Finpro organizes, together with FGI, a hackathon to co-create content based on AR/VR technologies to be used at the theme park.
Nine Finnish teams of AR/VR companies were selected to participate in hackathon and innovate content for the park. The on-site event (hackathon) will take place in Hanno from Sunday September 17th to Tuesday Sep 19th evening.
The event is supported by JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization) and related to Finland – Japan partnership project to support companies in internationalization, digitalization and open innovation.
