Kenya’s economy is growing strongly and the country is strategically located in the heart of the East African Community and is the area’s economic and logistical hub in many forms. The value of Kenya’s ICT sector is estimated at US$ 2.5 billion in 2017.
There is a strong need for development in Kenyan telecommunication market and the rapid growth of the business environment will require implementation of advanced IT-solutions. There is business potential for content creation, systems integration and cyber security services. Also, the need for IoT solutions in developing smart infrastructure solutions has been on steep growth curve in Kenya. Moreover, mobile operators in Kenya are very interested in new business models and value streams.

The cyber crime and cyber-related sabotage have become a prevalent concern in Kenya. With ever-accelerating digitalization, addressing the security concerns has become unnervingly urgent. The majority of the East African country’s population is subscribed to a mobile payment service which is challenging traditional ways of money transactions and creates needs for cyber security solutions. During the visit, participants will have an opportunity to attend business meetings and networking events with local business leaders, organizations and authorities, which Finpro will organize in cooperation with the Embassy of Finland in Kenya, local Trade Center and growth program’s local consultant Mr. Bayan Monadjem.
Bayan will have skype meetings with all the companies participating in the trade mission during 9.-13.10. and 16.-20.10. Skype meeting’s goal is to understand your company’s mission, product/service offering and ambitions in the Kenyan markets; and for the companies that join for a revisit also to plan the follow-up for the opportunities and leads identified in previous trade missions. Based on the skype meetings Bayan will start working on the trade mission program.
